Approach

  • Play Therapy

I am currently training to become a Registered Play Therapist. I provide play therapy to clients ages 3-12 years old. My play therapy approach is rooted in child-centered play therapy. My play therapy approach is non-directive and is not talk therapy. Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate approach for children that is supported by research. Learn more here.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

I was trained in psychodynamic therapy and it influences my work with all clients. It may be most obvious in talk therapy, especially with emerging adult clients. For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in considering and talking about how past experiences influence thoughts, feelings, and behaviors today. I strive to create a safe and attuned place for healing, and to support people in finding comfort in the “good enough.”

  • Person-Centered Therapy

My work with all clients is person-centered. I strive to meet clients where they are at and create a safe space for them to grow at their pace. I do not believe I am superior over any client, and I deeply believe in the power of a strong, possibly long-term, therapeutic relationship. This means that quick fixes and a million modalities are not really my thing! I will be authentic and direct with clients, but I will not push clients to a place they are not ready or willing to go.
